Hoping for unity surrounding COVID-19 aid legislation.
Following the Summer recess that ended on Labor Day, members of the Senate returned to Washington, D.C. on Monday with a large list of policy items to pass as quickly as possible. Prior to the recess, no action had been taken to pass COVID-19 relief for Americans. Currently, a bill has been passed by the House of Representatives but has not been taken up by the Senate.
Members of Congress will also have to pass a government spending bill prior to the November election that will determine many members’ futures in their seats. Currently, leaders in both parties in the House have an informal agreement to pass a continuing resolution that would be free from additional items to assure the government continues to be funded.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For God to lead the House to vote on the best legislation for our country.
- For members of the Senate to come together to vote on COVD-19 relief.
- That the Trump Administration would partner with Congress to recover from the pandemic.
